Hoy en día, el ciberataque se considera una forma legítima de guerra. La nueva amenaza definida por Irina Bokova, Directora General de la UNESCO, como "limpieza cultural", añade los activos del patrimonio digital al mosaico de objetivos de un ciberataque. Otro riesgo está relacionado con las capacidades de la inteligencia artificial (IA). El objetivo no es la destrucción, sino alterar el patrimonio de tal manera que no sea detectable.
Martin Bollati nació en Buenos Aires en 1986. Es artista visual, editor y docente. Fundador y director de SED editorial, RISA editorial y 0/0. Coordina los talleres Errar los aparatos y Jugar contra la máquina junto a Erik Estany Tigerström. Su obra investiga la relación entre fotografía y ficción con un interés específico en las capacidades discursivas que existen en los márgenes del aparato fotográfico y su estructura. Lleva publicado los siguientes libros: A kind of loop por Riot Books, La forma bruta por la Universidad de Cádiz, Vacant dream state por 280a, Para describir una flor por Raya Editorial, Ruinas sin título, Aguas vivas, Texto Nazi y Hermes/Unesco por SED editorial. Ha expuesto individualmente en la 3era Bienal de fotografía de Beijing en China; Centro Cultural Kirchner en Buenos Aires, Argentina; Galería Cero en Madrid, España y Galería Hydra en la Ciudad de México; entre otros. En el año 2014 se le otorga la XI Beca Roberto Villagraz para realizar sus estudios de Máster en fotografía conceptual en EFTI. En 2017 su tarea como editor fue galardonada con el premio a Mejor Fotolibro Latinoamericano en los Coloquios Latinoamericanos de Fotografía en México y en 2018 junto al colectivo 280a ganó el premio Art Trail Tesla en el Unseen Festival de Amsterdam. Ese mismo año formó parte del número Ones to watch de la revista British Journal of Photography.
Today cyber attack is considered a legitimate form of warfare. The new threat defined by UNESCO, Director General Irina Bokova as "cultural cleansing" adds the digital heritage assets to the mosaic of targets for a cyber-attack. Another risks is related to the Al capabilities. The objective is not the destruction but altering the heritage in such a way that is not detectable.
Martin Bollati was born in Buenos Aires in 1986. He is a visual artist, editor, and teacher. He is the founder and director of SED editorial, RISA editorial, and 0/0. He coordinates the workshops "Errar los aparatos" and "Jugar contra la máquina" with Erik Estany Tigerström. His work investigates the relationship between photography and fiction with a specific interest in the discursive capacities that exist in the margins of the photographic apparatus and its structure. He has published the following books: "A kind of loop" by Riot Books, "La forma bruta" by the University of Cádiz, "Vacant dream state" by 280a, "Para describir una flor" by Raya Editorial, "Ruinas sin título", "Aguas vivas", "Texto Nazi" and "Hermes/Unesco" by SED editorial. He has had solo exhibitions at the 3rd Beijing Photography Biennial in China; Centro Cultural Kirchner in Buenos Aires, Argentina; Galería Cero in Madrid, Spain, and Galería Hydra in Mexico City, among others. In 2014, he was awarded the XI Roberto Villagraz Scholarship to pursue his Master's studies in conceptual photography at EFTI. In 2017, his work as an editor was honored with the award for Best Latin American Photobook at the Latin American Photography Colloquium in Mexico, and in 2018, together with the collective 280a, he won the Art Trail Tesla award at the Unseen Festival in Amsterdam. That same year, he was featured in the "Ones to watch" issue of the British Journal of Photography magazine.

Maybe it has to be something else

Todo parece a punto de estallar. El mundo se está calentando insoportablemente rápido. Las opiniones políticas están cambiando radicalmente hacia la derecha y mi abuela acaba de empezar a planear su propio funeral. Mi amigo Elias siempre hierve el agua un tiempo de más mientras cuece la pasta. Le gusta cuando el vapor sube y ha empezado a gustarme también. Porque tal vez tenga que ser otra cosa. Al fin y al cabo, comer una gran olla de sopa con la familia, ir al sauna con lxs amigxs o que unxs desconocidxs me inviten a un asado es la verdad del asunto. Luego podemos protestar, podemos salir a la calle todo lo que queramos, pero antes hay que ver cómo se levanta el vapor, lentamente.
Edgar Lessig estudió Bellas Artes en la Universidad de las Artes de Linz y en el Camberwell College of Arts de Londres. Recientemente ha completado un programa de danza contemporánea en Tanzfabrik, Berlín, y actualmente está escribiendo su tesis sobre “Arte y caos” en Estudios Aplicados de Cultura y Arte. Entre sus últimas exhibiciones individuales figuran Stiege 13, Viena, y Memphis, Linz.
Everything seems like it will boil over soon. The world is getting unbearably hot fast. Political views are radically shifting to the right and my grandma just started planning her own funeral. My friend Elias always boils the water a little longer while cooking his pasta. He likes it when the steam rises up and I have begun to do so too. Because, you know, maybe it has to be something else. After all, eating a big pot of soup with the family, going to the sauna with friends or getting invited to an asado by strangers is the real deal. Later we can protest – we can take to the streets all we want – but before this there is some steam to watch, rising up slowly.
Edgar Lessig studied Fine Arts at the University of Arts Linz and Camberwell College of Arts, London. Recently he completed a program in contemporary dance at Tanzfabrik, Berlin and is currently writing his thesis on ‘Art and Chaos’ in Applied Studies of Culture and Art. Recent solo exhibitions include Stiege 13, Vienna and Memphis, Linz.
